In the afternoon, 5th and 6th Class introduced the younger children to orienteering. Mrs Duke’s and Mrs Walsh’s classes completed a ‘colour relay’, to start to develop orienteering skills. Pupils had to search for cones of a certain number and colour around the school yard, then record this information on their orienteering cards.

Active Homework
The children were given ‘Active Homework’ for the duration of the week. Here’s a selection of some of the photos emailed to the school by parents.
Our school encouraged pupils and parents to walk to school where possible. We also walked to the Enniscorthy Sports Hub. We also promoted physical activity in a cross curricular way throughout the week. For example ‘Deir Ó Grádaigh’, the ‘Haka’ in Music and experiments in S.E.S.E. about the heart and lungs.
Our photograph display of Active Week:
We contacted other local physical amenities (Tennis and Pitch and Putt) close to our school but unfortunately they were unavailable during Active School Week, but we hope to make use of their facilities at a later date.
